Just 40 minutes to reach alta val Marecchia , ancient Feudo (feoff) of Signoria dei Malatesta with the town of San Leo, obtaining a recent nomination “I Borghi più Belli d’Italia”, (lovely and Charme Italian villages) with his fortified castle which gave hospitality to DANTE, FRANCESCO D’ASSISI and where died CONTE DI CAGLIOSTRO. Here you find also nice resorts like Pennabilli, Verucchio, and Santarcangelo, medieval village where PAPA CLEMENTE XIV was born and in more recent years the poet TONINO GUERRA. Santarcangelo was built on Jovis hill with tufa caves drilling the ground of the historical centre that can be visited .
Serenissima Repubblica di San Marino, Republic of San Marino was ground in A.D. 301 and is the oldest republic of Europe: San Marino is reachable in 20 minutes by car; 800 meters on sea level will surprise you with the splendid ancient fortified Towers and 9 Castles.
Not to be missed “for shopping addicted” of any kind is the Superstrada of San Marino, connection road between Rimini and San Marino studded with Outlet of shoes, dress of main important Trade Mark, commercial centers, and wide surfaces dedicated to electronic goods.
For landscape lovers is worthwhile visiting the Riserva Naturale Orientata delle Grotte di Onferno (Onferno limestone Caves) and more far, the fantastic GROTTE DI FRASASSI karst cave system with stalactites and stalagmites and little lakes with crystal water.
